oPeN SoUrCe lOvEr FINAL ANALYSIS !!

sorry distribute you guys..ha ha, ellow2 i came back. . miss me? ? hik2 <3 <3
mm. . this are last assignment i received. . i will be missing u again, nghee =P

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
OK in the last topic i want to compile all subject i learn have learn. . first times when i learn it confusing when Richard Stallman launched GNU project so what is connection between of Linux? ? that Open Source is build under the Linux? ? then i know that Linux be founded of Linus Torvalds. . in Linux it same as a Window but the different is a NAME, but the function of its overall same like the installation of Linux. . The interesting is it have distribution and every distribution have specialized and been up to date. . like Ubuntu, Red Hat and Debian. . now each of that have been improved from older version. . i am the user of Window but i never being used command prompt. . OMO in Linux i have try TERMINAL whenever this is a first time i use Open Source, huhu sometimes i also blur between command and ShEeL. . this Operating System it also suitable use with CHROME and SKYPE to still keep in touch with network. . but what? ? ha ha, if you are worry because of more are prefer use Window, you can also put SAMBA. . don't confident to use Linux? ? it also have solution during TROUBLESHOOT. . =D

the Most interesting part i learn is about term of FREE. . it a identity Like different words convert different meaning right? ? the term “free software” is are “Software you can get for zero price,” wow something wrong was happen, it all about freedoms OK. . ha ha,fun CLUB of software will determine it as ALL to FREE. . unfortunately, all the alternatives in English have problems of their own but none is so clearly. . lastly their are being choosing OPEN SOURSE as name. . mm its like no need to get a PIRATE for being using just we also can donate. . ha ha, its only for maintenance OK. .

in the FUTURE, i hope can learn more about COMMAND and SHELL. . its quit interesting, command is short a task but did you know that Shell. . we can put many instruction on it. . mm we can assume as HTML or c++ programming language, because it need to know the code of each function to build a task. . if we wrong input,it will determine as unknown or different translate that we want, so be careful with every action we take. . ha ha maybe it will change the system you know =)

ASSIGNMENT 2: HISTORY OF OPEN SOURCE!

History of open source:

ü In 1983, Richard Stallman launched the GNU Project to write a complete operating system free from constraints on use of its source code.

ü In 1989, the first version of the GNU General Public License was published. A slightly updated version 2 was published in 1991.

ü In 1989, some GNU developers formed the company Cygnus Solutions.

ü The Linux kernel, started by Linus Torvalds, was released as freely modifiable source code in 1991.

ü The BSD lawsuit was settled out of court in 1993, FreeBSD and NetBSD (both derived from 386BSD).

ü KDE was founded in 1996 by Matthias Ettrich. At the time, he was troubled by the inconsistencies in UNIX applications.

ü In 1997, Eric Raymond published The Cathedral and the Bazaar, a reflective analysis of the hacker community and free software principles. The paper received significant attention in early 1998 and was one factor in motivating Netscape Communications Corporation to release their popular Netscape Communicator Internet suite as free software. This code is today better known as Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird.

ü In August 1999, Sun Microsystems released the StarOffice office suite as free software under the
GNU Lesser General Public License. The free software version was renamed OpenOffice.org, and coexists with StarOffice.

How To Promote And Develop

 Interest For Other People To

Use Open Source

Software???

Guys !!!!  Open Source ??? owh men!!! Unfortunutly, you will not be LOSS if you are going to use OPEN SOURCE!!

WHY? ? You have asking me WHY??  Gosh!!!!
Ok! I’ll be telling you WHY ???
Hahaha....I’ve feel that I’m the good teller (noticed gurlz)! Huhu...

As we all know, open source software’s source code is available to the general public for modification or use from its original design or structure free of charge.
One of the famous open source softwares is Linux operating systems.  But open source is not just about access to the source code.  It has free distribution and it does not restrict other software.
Have you ever wonder why you should use open source software?

Nope????really????auch!!!

Okey2!!! just read on our nonsense ... ( if ure going mention of that !!! )

ü  First, open source programs are RELIABLE.
Open source software’s source code availability to the public makes the program reliable.
Whenever there is a bug detected, developers or users tried to fix those bugs within a couple of hours, report it to the maintainers of the software and release an updated version.
Users may opt to choose to use the fixed version or the official version (including the fix releases).

ü  Second, open source software offers STABILITY to business.
Closed source software usually requires businesses to upgrade to the new versions of the software to support certain features needed.
This means cost for the business.  Using an open source software, businesses or users can have access to the source code.
That will allow the business to support itself to the old version where necessary and gives more options to the businesses or users.
ü  Lastly, since the source code is available for free, businesses, users or organizations are not limited to acquiring SUPPORT from the program authors or developers.

sImPle??
haha...okey!!! enjoy it!!!!

~love you all~
